Missionary-Booklets
This project is not new, but has been used by many for a long time. Indeed, in the modern cycle, the constant lack of time, the abundance of things to do, a person does not have much time on the street for a dialogue with a missionary, or in any other place, and if he does, it will still be useful to give information about God and the truth, to give a living word God, which itself ferments the soul of a person, if he so desires.
The missionary’s task is to testify to the living word of God, which can be set out in sufficient volume even on one sheet, in order to once again appeal to the conscience of a person, so that a person again faces the choice of good and evil.
Each leaflet is a chance!
Each booklet is a throwing of out with the hope that a person will respond to the call to eternal life with God!
Each booklet is a mustard seed sowing with the hope that it will fall on good ground!
Many Orthodox Christians experience difficulties in dialogue with unbelievers, misguided and unchurched people. The leaflet will be a good helper in this, because what you cannot say, it will say for you. Often God puts us in situations where we need to speak and preach, defend the Church, or answer a question about the truth. Often we are not ready to give an answer with meekness and reverence. If you carry 5-10 such leaflets with you in your purse and use it on occasion, then this will partly help solve the problem.
1. It happens that people say: “Well, how can I be a saint? I wouldn’t go to hell! And in general, it is proud to think that I want to become like the holy apostles, martyrs or reverends. It was given to them, but I probably didn’t…” But Christ says, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Mat. 5:48). This is what the leaflet “BE SAINT” tells about!
2. Surely in your church on the holidays of Christmas, Epiphany and Easter there is a large number of little church people to draw water or consecrate Easter cakes. This is the time to work and distribute such leaflets. This is the time when “the fish itself swims in the net, and how can you not arrange them …”. For this, the leaflet “SHOULD BE CONFESSED AND COMMUNE!”
3. Surely it happened to communicate with unbaptized people, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists. Who are your neighbors in the apartment and garden? Who gives you a ride in a taxi or sits in your car? Who is your random fellow traveler on a train or plane? Do you want him to be saved or perish? If the first, then do not hesitate to give him a leaflet “ETERNAL GOD CALLS YOU TO HIMSELF!” or “LIFE IS A CHOICE!”. Starting a conversation about faith and religion is not difficult at all!
4. Mission is a common cause, although difficult for many. But as with anything, you have to try and get a taste. The taste of missionary work is special and incomparable. In order to encourage an Orthodox Christian to this cause, there is a leaflet “Become a saint! It’s possible.” Baptism must not be postponed, because you may be late, confession must not be postponed for the same reason, and you must not stop in the spiritual life, because you may lose your reward and turn out to be like a “buried talent” or like “five foolish virgins.” We must hurry to the Heavenly Fatherland, we must use our earthly time for sowing good seeds, we must remind ourselves every day of our main task, to become saints! As one elder said: “Desire and effort come from man, success and results come from God.”
Glossy paper 90 grams, a nice design and a booklet folded in three, as well as your smile will make the interlocutor take and read the leaflet immediately or after a while. And then it’s a matter of human conscience. How much he will allow God to work in his heart.
